Academics

Besides attending classes and taking exams themselves, students in the Department of Entomology are involved in various academic activities and professional organizations at departmental, state, regional, and national levels, participating in competitions and giving presentations of their research. Typically, several members are honored for their excellent presentations or posters in the student competitions of various annual meetings and conferences.

In addition, the Linnaean Game team has always been a source of pride for the department. In October 2004, the Linnaean Game team represented the ESA-SEB along with North Carolina State at the National Championship and came in second in the country. Finally, members of the Lund Club are responsible for nominating and selecting the H.O. Lund and U.E. Brady seminar speakers each year from among the most respected researchers and teachers in the country.
