Founders' Lecture Series
The Georgia Entomological Society recognizes
significant and selfless contributions to science and the GES by means
of the GES Foundersí Lecture Series, a program that the society began
in 1990. The Foundersí
Lecture serves to honor the individual to whom the lecture is dedicated,
and additionally serves to recognize a scholar/researcher of the Society
who has contributed significantly and historically to the advancement
of our science and/or whose research is at the cutting edge of his/her
The Committee on Awards and
Recognition selects an appropriate scientist/presenter, who will be
honored by the presenting the Foundersí Lecture at the annual meeting
of the GES. Nominations shall be made by letter and must include: 1) the
name of the individual to be nominated for recognition in the GES Foundersí
Lecture Series, 2) listing of the specific, significant contributions,
3) any additional background information that might be helpful to the
committee, and 4) nominations for the individual scientist/presenter
who would deliver the Founders' Lecture at the annual meeting.
The GES Committee on Awards
and Recognition solicits nominations for recognition of outstanding
members of the Georgia Entomological Society.
Nominations for these awards may be made at any time.
All nominations will be kept confidential within the committee.
