Research Interests:

My current research focuses on the beetle family, Bothrideridae, a group which contains members that are both fungal feeders and ectoparasites of wood-boring beetle larvae and pupae. I am broadly interested in all areas of their biology, behavior, natural history, and host fungus associations, but my research specifically focuses on the taxonomy and systematics of the group. I am currently working on a revision of the genus Deretaphrus based on morphology. I also have an interest in the Latridiidae, the minute brown scavenger beetles, and have recently completed work on a family-level phylogenetic analysis of the family based on molecular evidence.
