I am the IPM coordinator in the Department of Entomology in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degree at New Mexico State University. I have a broad background in agriculture and have experience in many different systems. My master’s work examined population dynamics of the saltcedar leafhopper feeding on invasive populations of this plant in New Mexico. Upon receiving my degree, I spent two years as a laboratory manager working on integrated pest management of insect pests in cotton and alfalfa. My Ph.D. work focused on insect-vectored transmission of vesicular stomatitis New Jersey virus in livestock. I have extensive research experience in field and laboratory settings. I also have extensive experience in working under BSL-3Ag biocontainment protocols both at the University of Georgia, and at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center. Currently I coordinate funding and research and extension activities for the Georgia Integrated Pest Management Program.
