My Research |
| |
My current study area focuses on understanding how the insect host’s immune system protects insects from parasitoid invasion and reciprocally, how parasitoids overcome host defense. This includes the study of microbial symbionts like polydnaviruses that carried by many parasitoids and that play a key role in suppressing the immune system of host insect. The wasp strategy for delivery of polydnavirus gene could inspire medical applications for gene therapy, whereas polydnavirus virulence factors are of interest in agriculture.
