Requirements for Entomology [Biology] 2010
Only one text is required: Silent Spring by Rachel Carson

Grading will be as follows:
Quizzes: 300 points
Exam 1: 200 points
Exam 2: 200 points
Final Exam: 300 points
Total: 1000 points

It is anticipated that an A will be 900 or more points, a B will be 800-899, a C will be 700-799, a D will be 600-699, and an F will be any total below 600 points.

THERE WILL BE 17 UNANNOUNCED QUIZZES. Some quizzes may be take home quizzes that will be due at the start of the next class period. There will be no makeup quizzes! Each student will be allowed to drop the two lowest quiz scores from her/his record at the end of the semester. If you miss (or expect to miss) a quiz or an exam for any valid reason, you should contact the instructor immediately for an alternative assignment. All quizzes will be OPEN BOOKS/OPEN NOTES! Exam 1, Exam 2 & the Final Exam will be CLOSED BOOKS-CLOSED NOTES TESTS. Since the material presented in the lectures will be emphasized in the quizzes & the major exams, it is strongly recommended that students be present for each class period & that they take good notes. The questions on the quizzes will be similar in format to those that will be on the major exams. Therefore, the student will have a good idea of what type of questions to expect on Exam 1, on Exam 2, and on the Final. Please save all quizzes & exams!!!

EACH STUDENT IS REQUIRED TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY ON ALL QUIZZES AND EXAMS!
